The Process

We believe in responsible harvesting, ensuring the bees are left with enough of their own food source for Winter. Its a careful process looking after our bees and the environment.

Autumn // Winter:
During Autumn we check on bee numbers and make sure they’re at a good level to cope when food is limited. Winter is an important time for our bees to stay warm and healthy, leaving them with enough honey on the hive to ensure they get the vitamins they need.

 Spring // Summer:
Spring is a busy time. The Manuka is flowing and the bee numbers are building. Manuka flowers first in the Spring, come December when the flowering slows down, we remove the first honey box to ensure it doesn't mix with other nectar. We then add another box to catch the bush and Kanuka flower.

HEALTH BENEFITS:
 Mānuka Honey is nature’s superfood.
Mānuka is unique to New Zealand, and for hundreds of years Maori have turned to this  tree for traditional medicine. To have access to such an incredible natural resource is a real gift.
